Taipei
A stark contrast to the flower mart in LA, Taiwan had orchids and rare tropicals as commonplace and garden roses and ranunculus as the exotics. For her demonstration Jenn designed a large focal arrangement accompanied by fruit and vegetables from a local grocery store. Students created a focal arrangement and a bouquet
Nashville, TN
Hosted by Christie Tarleton of The Farmer’s Florist, Jenn traveled to her hemp and floral farm in Bells Bend Tennessee to teach a two day immersive course in flower farming and floral design. Students were invited to join as Christie discussed planning and planting for your own home cutting garden while Jenn’s focus was on harvesting flowers from the fields and arranging them with the students. The two days concluded with an afternoon foraging mushrooms, ferns, lichen, and bark in the adjacent forest to adorn the table where they shared a meal. All of the flowers and food were sourced within 20 square miles of where the workshop took place (most right on Christie’s farm!)- a truly memorable experience.
